In the article the author, Henry Blodget explains why gas prices are continually rising. Which is because of the oil prices, that won't stop rising. So, for every barrel of oil that is $100+. Which for the gas companies and oil companies to make a profit that means that us, "The Consumer" has to pay almost $4.00+ a gallon. But when the economy crashed, everyone forgot about all the problems because the prices tanked. But now the prices are back on the rise, and eventually its going to come to a point where everything crashes because no one can afford it.
In my opinion Henry is absolutely correct, the government tries to blame speculators, and anything else they can. But the real problem is that we are paying too much for oil, which in turn is absolutely killing the American at the pump. Eventually we are all going to end up riding bikes around, because no one will be able to afford the $80 cost of gas, that only lasts two weeks.

RODNEY KING, RODNEY KING

In the article The L.A. Riots: 15 years after Rodney King the author describes what happened during that April night in 1992.  How Rodney King did try to run away in a high speed chase, but as soon as he was stopped how viciously the police officers beat him down.  What he did was a crime, that is true. The cops said that he was "resisting arrest" and then continued to beat him down all while George Holliday was videotaping this horrible event.
I believe that yes Rodney did commit a crime and should not have ran from the cops, but if this would have been a white man, he would have been cuffed and taken down to the station. But because this was an African American male, he was taken out of his car and beat down by several cops with their batons. This just goes to show how much racism there was back then. I believe today we are not AS bad as were back then but there are still people who judge based off of skin color.

Africas Rhythm

When mick says MaMa Gombe understands the "energy of Africa" I think he means that she understands the rhythm that Africa has. She has become one of Africa's children and it has taught her how to stay out of danger and become very aware of everything before it happens . The energy of Africa differs very much from the energy of Florida. For example, Africa is very free and the people live around or within the wildlife. In Africa you see elephants, rhinos, and lions. In Florida you occasionally see an alligator walking across the road or a snake in your yard. Here in Florida we are not exposed to as much "free wildlife" as in Africa.
